1. About This Policy

This Cookie Policy explains how FindHotelsAU.com uses cookies, browser storage and similar technologies, how optional categories are presented to visitors and how privacy preferences can be changed.

The policy should be read together with the Privacy Policy, which provides broader information about personal information, third-party services and website privacy choices.

FindHotelsAU distinguishes between technologies that are necessary for core website behaviour and optional technologies that may be used only when they are actually implemented and, where appropriate, permitted by the visitor's saved choice.

2. What Cookies Are

Cookies are small text files or data records that a website or service can place on a visitor's device through the browser. They are commonly used to remember settings, maintain sessions, support security, measure website usage or enable features provided by third parties.

Cookies can be temporary, disappearing when a browser session ends, or persistent, remaining for a defined period or until removed. They may be set by the website you are visiting or by a third-party service whose content is loaded on that website.

Not every browser storage technology is technically a cookie. Websites can also use local storage, session storage and other browser mechanisms to remember information. This policy uses the term “cookie technologies” broadly where useful to describe these related mechanisms.

3. Browser Storage

FindHotelsAU uses localStorage to save your cookie-preference selection under the key findhotelsau_cookie_preferences. The saved record allows the website to remember whether you accepted all optional categories, rejected non-essential categories or selected individual preferences.

Local storage is saved in your browser and normally remains available across visits until it is cleared, replaced or removed. It is not automatically sent to a server with every page request in the way that traditional cookies can be.

You can remove local storage using your browser's site-data controls. If the preference record is removed, the website may ask you to make your privacy choice again on a later visit.

4. Necessary Technologies

Necessary technologies support functions that are required for the website to operate as expected. For FindHotelsAU, this includes remembering the privacy choice so the consent panel does not need to appear on every page view and supporting normal interface behaviour.

The Essential category is shown as “Always Active” in the cookie settings panel and cannot be switched off through that panel. This does not prevent you from using browser controls to clear site data, although doing so can reset saved settings.

Necessary technologies should not be used as a substitute for unrelated analytics or advertising tracking. If the technical purpose of a technology changes, its classification should be reviewed.

5. Preference Storage

The Preferences category is intended for optional functions that remember choices made by a visitor, such as display preferences, interface selections or other convenience settings that are not strictly necessary for the page to load.

The current website saves whether you have allowed the Preferences category, but it does not currently use that category to create a detailed personal profile or store additional personalised hotel preferences.

If new preference-based features are introduced, they should respect the saved choice and this policy should be updated where the feature materially changes the information stored on the visitor's device.

6. Analytics

Analytics technologies can be used to understand how visitors use a website, for example which pages are viewed, how visitors move between sections, whether errors occur and which features receive the most interaction.

Analytics tracking is currently inactive on FindHotelsAU.com unless an analytics service is separately connected. The Analytics toggle records the visitor's preference, but the current website code does not load an analytics platform through that setting.

If analytics is introduced, it should not be activated for visitors who have rejected the Analytics category where consent is required by the chosen implementation. The relevant provider, purpose and technology should also be disclosed here.

7. Marketing Technologies

Marketing technologies can be used by websites or advertising partners to measure campaign performance, understand whether an advertisement led to a visit, or support advertising-related audience functions.

Marketing cookies and advertising tracking are currently inactive on FindHotelsAU.com unless such services are separately implemented. No advertising tracking should be loaded through the website before the appropriate preference has been obtained where that choice is required.

The Marketing toggle exists so visitors can make a clear choice if advertising-related technology is added later. Any future implementation should be reflected accurately in this policy.

8. Embedded Third-Party Content

Some pages may contain content delivered by another provider, such as a map, font, icon library, media player or other embedded service. When third-party content loads, the visitor's browser may communicate directly with that provider.

A third party may use cookies, local storage or comparable technologies according to its own service configuration and privacy practices. FindHotelsAU does not control a third party's independent cookie settings merely because its content is embedded on the website.

Where an embedded service materially affects privacy choices, FindHotelsAU should review whether additional consent controls or disclosure are appropriate.

9. Google Maps

The Contact page contains an embedded Google Maps frame to show the Broadbeach location. Loading the map can cause the browser to connect to Google and may allow Google to receive technical information or use technologies associated with its own services.

Google Maps is operated independently by Google and is subject to Google's own privacy and cookie practices. Visitors who prefer not to interact with the embedded map can use the written address displayed on the Contact page.

10. Managing Your Preferences

When the privacy panel is shown, you can choose “Accept All”, “Reject Non-Essential” or “Manage Preferences”. Selecting “Manage Preferences” opens the settings panel where Preferences, Analytics and Marketing can be switched on or off individually.

After you save a selection, the website records the choice in local storage and hides the initial privacy panel. The saved choice is then used when the settings panel is reopened.

You can also manage cookies and browser storage using browser controls. Browser-level blocking or deletion may override website preferences and can affect the way some features work.

11. Reopening Cookie Settings

You can reopen the privacy controls at any time by selecting “Cookie Settings” in the footer of any page. The panel will display the choices currently saved in your browser.

Changing a preference updates the local record used by FindHotelsAU. If optional services are connected later, those services should be configured to respond appropriately to the saved categories.

Clearing browser site data removes the saved preference record and may cause FindHotelsAU to ask for your selection again on a later visit.

12. Policy Changes

This Cookie Policy may be updated when the website introduces or removes browser technologies, changes third-party providers, modifies its consent interface or materially changes the purpose for which a technology is used.

The “Last updated” date at the top of the page should be revised whenever a material change is published. Visitors can review this page periodically to understand the current categories and controls.
